The first time I heard about this trending fad – activated charcoal for skincare, I was like, kuch bhi! Water purification tak toh suna tha, ab charcoal se skin bhi clean hogi?
And I dismissed the trend right there.
Much later, I received a gift hamper from a friend by Deyga Organic, which was an assorted mix of a toner, hair oil, aloe vera gel, andguess what, a charcoal soap bar!
Okay. So, it was time to test the fad. And when I did, this happened!
I became a fan of Deyga Organic Charcoal Soap and other products.
I decided to begin my regimen with the soap. I went to the brand’s website and found that this soap is suggested and is good for hormonal acne, removing blackheads, dead skin and even in controlling access sebum.
Viola! I was thrilled to experience the effect as worked for me in minimizing sporadic acne, made my skin feel plump and squeaky clean.
After every face wash, I can actually feel that deep cleansing effect, which lasted for a pretty long time. Even the oily sheen, which appeared after every few hours on the face, also vanished.
For everyone who is mindful about the ingredient list, this charcoal soap has, of course, activated charcoal powder, a set of essential oils such as olive oil, castor oil, tea tree essential oil, virgin coconut oil, and unrefined shea butter.
Activated charcoal is known to effectively cleanse the skin, unclog pores and remove deeper impurities.
The balanced mix of all the essential oils and shea butter helps in nourishing and soothing irritated, chaffy skin. It’s a good choice for people with oily or acne-prone skin.
What NOT to expect?
Do not expect any floral or fancy fragrance from the soap. It is all-natural and handmade. Rather, it has a peculiar earthy smell.
Deyga’s charcoal soap is priced at Rs. 410/- for 150 gm. It comes in a cute cotton potli bag. One bar is good to last 2-3 months.
You can purchase it from the brand’s website www.deyga.com or at amazon.
Other products which I used from the gifted hamper were,
Aloe Vera Gel
The aloe gel looks like the usual – transparent and colorless. Again, being all-natural, this too has no fragrance.
The gel is quite thick, yet not sticky. The best part is that it gives a matte finish after application. It gets completely absorbed in the skin and leaves it super smooth.
I use it after facewash and even as a makeup primer.
It is priced at Rs. 390 for 100 ml. It comes in a clear plastic tub.
You can purchase it from the brand’s website or at amazon.
Tea Tree Toner
Deyga tea tree toner comes in a spray bottle. Just like a mist, I spray it directly on the face (keeping my eyes tightly shut) and let it dry on its own or pat lightly.
Yes, it does give a fresh feel and leaves the skin superbly clean and taut. I like it as it controls excess oil from the face yet doesn’t dry it out completely. It works well in closing my pores.
You can experience the typical smell of tea tree oil.
The price is Rs. 470 for a 100 ml bottle. Buy it from the website or amazon.
Anti-Dandruff Oil
It’s a good, nourishing oil that controls dandruff to quite an extent.
Honesty, I could not use it as per the required times suggested to completely take care of dandruff, but whatever few times I have used it, I did observe lesser dandruff till my next hair wash.
The amazing part of this oil is that it comes with an applicator. The applicator makes the application of oil easy and less messy. It also helps the oil to reach directly to the hair roots.
It is priced at Rs. 550 for a bottle of 100 ml.
My Verdict of Degya Products
After using the products for good 15-20 days, I found Deyga Organic products to be up to-the-mark. The brand is true to being organic and all-natural. The quality is really good and can be trusted.
Yes, pricing is little on the higher side but considering the purity and all products being organic and handmade, it doesn’t pinch.
Apart from the ones I used, there are more skin and hair care products available. You can browse through the website www.deyga.com and order directly from there or through Amazon.
